Learn moreWe get together on the third Saturday of every month for a vintage and modern military rifle shoot. We also shoot a couple of pistol matches in July and August!
Ten matches, one clinic and a banquet every year.
We kick off the season with a clinic in February or March: everything you ever wanted to know about shooting a military rifle well. Matches are usually the third Saturday of the month, from March to December. And we close the season with an awards banquet/club meeting/Garand raffle.

We will loan you an M1 Garand or AR-15 rifle and everything you'll need to get started. The only thing we ask is that you let us know in advance and purchase our ammo for use in our rifles.

No need to join the club to participate in a match or clinic, and you may shoot any safe rifle that allows you to follow the course of fire. We have two relays on each match day, so most first-timers learn the ropes by shadowing the first one and shooting in the second.

Even if you never thought about competition, visit us and see what we're about. Most of us got our start at DEGS or a similar club, and we're happy to help you get your start, too. We will loan you the gear and teach you how to use it.
About that rifle giveaway.
Yes, we raffle off an M1 Garand every year. As of 2025, we have given away 16 of them. The only way to get in the raffle is to join the club and shoot with us. Five matches in a year is all it takes. We have about 20 entrants each year, so you calculate the odds compared to that raffle ticket you bought at the last gun show!
